Rethinking waste and new ways to reuse it: the bioeconomy as an opportunity for regional development

La bioeconomía como oportunidad para el desarrollo regional: la gestión de residuos y nuevas opciones de valorización

This interdisciplinary conference brings together food producers, waste managers, bio-based industries, academics and politicians to discuss the agri-food sector’s transition towards a circular bioeconomy.

What are the problems with waste management? What are the latest scientific innovations on reusing residues of food production? What is needed to make the agri-food sector a truly circular bioeconomy? What is the potential of the territory of Gipuzkoa, Basque Country, for the development of the bioeconomy?

The conference sheds light onto these questions with panel discussions, and presentations from companies and research projects, including Orloga, Algaloop, Ondoan, Ingredalia, the B-resilient, OKIN and Chorizo project.
